The regular monthly meeting of the Fort Worth Chapter, TCA was held on January 3, 2012 at Ridglea Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Tom McGrath at 3:20 pm. An opening prayer was offered by Chip Annen. Attending: Scott Wilson, Christian Stephanow, Walter Kaufmann, James Morris, Deborah Hawkins, Tom McGrath, Chip Annen, Brent Loving, Heather Kurima, Jim MacPherson, Carter Gresham, Steve Pool, Ricky Phillips, Hank Wier, John Vanover, Julia Dunaway, Shay Allen, Silvestre Ramos, and Francisco Acosta. Guests: Clifton Lee Van On, Paul Bras, Crystal Vastine, M. Hackman, Kurt Bond, Ricki Epstein, Kelly Cook, Gerald McGlaun, Armando Rios, Robert Watson, Joy A., Marty Cummins, Devin Marhuer, Maggie Eldridge, Shane Lovell, Timothy Kelley, Candace Broom, Lori Cooper, Phil Bristow, Nyla Howes, Keith Gimpel, Charles Russ, Jeff Barbe, Patrick Mitchell, Henry Stewart, Sharon Van Meter, Andre Bedouret, and JD Werle. Minutes: Chef McGrath began with the Secretary's minutes of the November meeting at the Tarrant Area Food Bank. The meeting minutes were approved. Kelly Cook made the motion and James seconded. Treasurer's Report: The chapter is financially sound. The Chef's Holiday Party report was given by Crystal Vastine. She reported that this year's event was the most successful ever exceeding all goals. Checks were presented for $2500 each to the Tarrant Area Food Bank and to the Fort Worth Chef's Association. New Business: Ricky Phillips is a new voting chef member. Officers are Chef Tom McGrath-Director, Heather Kurima-Vice Director, James Morris-Treasurer, Walter Kaufmann-Membership, Clifton Van On-Special Events, Charlie Guajardo-Certification and Deborah Hawkins-Secretary. All officers are voting chefs' members of this chapter. Standing Rules - operational policies - Heather Kurima-Basically what we are going to follow in the operation of our chapter. Day to day operations, job descriptions, and etc. will be addressed. We need to write these rules and hope to have them written before the next meeting.
Kathy Mills is with CharityHUB.com. Tom introduced her and she shared with us knowledge from thirty years in the nonprofit sector. She has aligned with CharityHUB in order to come up with a new way to help nonprofit groups and to benefit all those who are associated with those groups. Jason Dial is also with Charity HUB. The address is P.O. Box 470518, Ft Worth, TX 76140.00 Chef McGrath thanked Chef Clifton Van On for hosting our meeting and for the wonderful food. Each attendee introduced him/herself and told about what they were hoping for in the coming year during a round table. Some people shared personal goals as well as business ones. The general consensus was that there is hope that 2012 will be a better year and that the chef's association grows in strength. Adjournment: Chef Morris thanked Chef McGrath for taking the position of Director and Crystal Vastine announced a quick 15 minute meeting for the Chef's Holiday Pantry. The next meeting will be February 1, 2012 at The Ashton Depot, 610 Main Stree, Fort Worth, TX 76102 at 3pm. The meeting was adjourned at 4:26 pm.

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 3:37 by Chip Annen. Attending: Carter Gresham, Deborah Hawkins, Edward Hall, Heather Kurima, Julia Dunaway, John Vanover, Shay Allen, Tom McGrath, Walter Kaufmann, and Manuel Vasquez. Guests: Crystal Vastine, Lori Cooper, Phillip Bristow, Robyn Morgan, Matt Lansford, J. Pauley, Javier Santos, Steven Parker, Timothy Kelly, Valarie Hedge, Maggie Eldridge and Damien Brown. Minutes: September minutes can be read online. Treasurer's Report: There have been no expenditures this month. Director's Report: Michael Morabito made announcements concerning plans to further develop involvement of all members in the chapter. Fresh Point will host the November meeting on Wednesday, November 2. A meeting notice of time and place will be sent. For immediate assistance, please contact steve.pool@freshpoint.com. The Chef's Holiday Pantry has a director, Crystal Vastine. It will be December 17 at Ridgmar Mall. The annual holiday party is in the planning stages. We need to come up with some new ways to make money for future educational purposes. The group was divided to discuss a set of questions aimed at aligning the members' goals to our meeting agendas and chapter activities. Nicole Cody, nrcody@ag.tamu.edu from Texas A&M asked for chef participation on November 7 at the Botanic Gardens to demonstrate for a one time event. Chef Morabito thanked Heather Kurima for allowing us to meet at the Culinary School of Ft Worth and for the delicious food.
