The regular monthly meeting of the Golden Triangle Chapter, TCA was held on May 4, 2010 at St. Elizabeth, hosted by Chef Traci Henry.
Attending: Carly Andrews, Nathaniel Deem CC, Charles Duit CEC,AAC,ACE,CDM,CFPP, Casey Gates CC, Chuck Harris CCC, Kevin Jones, Ed Mouton, Glenda Shaw, Tim Simien CC, Traci Henry and Larry Smith.
Excused: Deborah Bando-Duit CEC,AAC
Guests: Will Celli, Crystal Lynch, Tom Thompson and Clint Weber
Call to Order: Director Casey Gates called the meeting to order at 3:45 pm. Director Gates welcomed everyone. Will Celli and Clint Weber, Ben E. Keith Company Sales Managers were introduced to members.
Minutes: Copies of the minutes were handed out. There was a motion made by Charles Duit to approve the April meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Kevin Jones. Motion passed.
Treasurer's Report: The chapter is in sound financial condition.
Old Business: Convention 2010: Director Gates went over the items discussed at the last convention meeting at Spindletop Restaurant. Sponsorship was discussed as well as the program booklet. More information was given about the seminars. Next meeting for convention will be May 25 at Spindletop Restaurant at 3 pm. Everyone is welcome.
New Business: Jackets for Golden Triangle Members: Kevin Jones made the motion to purchase one jacket for members to be worn at the Convention and other Golden Triangle Chef events. No more than $65.00 per jacket should be spent. Traci Henry seconded the motion. The motion passed. Lamar Hospitality Challenge: The high school competition is scheduled for May 7 at Lamar University. Seven teams have enrolled. Casey Gates, Tim Simien, Kevin Jones, Kim Wade and Sendi Gardner have volunteered to judge the event.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for June 2, at 3:30 pm at Christus Outpatient Pavillion Conference Room 1, 755 N. 11th Street, Beaumont, Texas hosted by Chef Traci Henry.
