The regular monthly meeting of the Heart of Texas Chapter, TCA was held on Monday, May 10, 2010, at Cricket's, hosted by Len Pawelek.
Attending: Ben Hernandez, Stephen Burns, Len Pawelek, Mark Schneider CEC, CCE and Aniceto Moreno, Jr.
Guests: Jeffrey Walker and Brandon Bailey
Excused: Sara Smith, Ferrell Davis, Jerry Opperman CEC, Gayle Van Sant and Ron Diebold.
Call to Order: Director Len Pawelek called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm and welcomed all in attendance.
Minutes: Len Pawelek read last month's minutes. Ben Hernandez made motion to accept minutes as is, Aniceto Moreno, Jr. seconded the motion.
Treasurer's Report: Profit was made at Spring Fundraiser Dinner.
Director's Report: Spring Fundraiser Dinner was a huge success and all in attendance were outstanding. Please call Len Pawelek (254) 493-4854 or Mark Schneider (254) 867-4868 for details.
Certification: Mark Schneider CEC to coordinate an open certification test before the end of the year and requests from the chapter for financial support. Vote was taken and was passed.
Membership: Aniceto Moreno, Jr is our new member.
Charity/Fund Raising: A Chili Cook off or some type of summer festive function was discussed to boost chapter representation and funds.
Social: The state convention will be held in Beaumont, Texas
Old Business: Our chapter logo was voted on and passed with the help of Brandon Bailey and Aniceto Moreno, Jr., materializing the design.
New Business: A scholarship is being organized by Mark Schneider CEC to support the "First Time Attendee Scholarship" for those full time members whom have not attended a state convention.
