The regular monthly meeting of the Mid East Texas, TCA Chapater was held on July 12, 2010.
Attending: Debbie Fleming, Nathaniel Olson, Vicki Tramel and Sherry Jones.
Excused: Herbert Kappler and Natalie Rabicoff
Guests: Karla Ramos, David Lichty, Shannon Story and Shalai Dickey
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:55 pm.
Treasurer's Report: We need more funds in the bank after paying the TCA convention fees.
New Business: State Convention is this weekend. Karla (LHS Student) informed us that she will be attending culinary school next year. We are organizing a joint fundraiser with our chapter and the Longview Museum of Fine Arts. We are organizing a joint fundraiser with our chapter and Longview High School to sell decorated sugar cookies at the school orientation in August. David Lichty agreed to guest teach for the Farmers Market this Saturday and next. Nathaniel Olson will guest teach the following Saturday. Vicki Tramel attended the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Austin, Texas this past weekend to be a part of a food competition for culinary techers in high school from around the state. Her team won the "Team Work Award", "Spirit Award", "Best Entree", as well as "Best Overall"!. Way to go Vicki!!! Debbie Fleming presented Shalai Dickey with her junior member paperwork. Gary Thompson of Ben E. Keith sponsored Shalai. Debbie Fleming presented Megan Kappler with her junior member paperwork. Megan was sponsored by Gary Thompson of Ben E. Keith and Herbert Kappler. Vicki Tramel was selected to be a board member of the TRA Education Foundation.
