Reducing Food Waste Workshop

Omni Hotel Dallas on August 23rd

Hosted by the WWF in collaboration with the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) and with support from The Rockefeller Foundation.

This workshop will run from 9am to 4pm.  The morning session will focus on training and exchanging ideas with government agents, consultants and industry professionals on sector specific food waste prevention tools and resources and ways to support local hotel properties working to adopt new behaviors. Following this train-the-trainer and stakeholder roundtable session, local hotel property representatives will join for a demonstration lunch.

The afternoon program will include a working session with the properties to develop food waste reduction strategies to implement with support of the stakeholders in the room. The day will end with a networking session to connect local properties with supporting entities and businesses including donation and diversion partners.  We hope that you can participate in the entirety of our event.
This workshop endeavors to seed knowledge and support among the local community to shift the Dallas hospitality sector towards food waste prevention. This supports the collective goal of upholding the city’s positioning as a premier sustainable destination for business and leisure travelers.
